A series of Microsoft VB scripts that help analyze files
Shuo Wang :: Monday, March 26, 2012
Not too long ago, there was a round of upgrades for the machines at my workplace. The IT people came around and upgraded my machine from Windows XP to Windows 7, which was awesome because I'm a big fan of Windows 7. They replaced my old disk drive with a newer one that we'd purchased. This meant that I lost all my VBA scripts that automated a lot of my data import and processing. I was able to grab them off the old disk and add them to the new machine without much of a problem. Now I'm documenting and sharing the data on the web just in case 1) it helps other people and 2) something goes wrong with my disk.
The first VBA macro is for importing individual csv files into one single excel workbook with each individual csv file as a worksheet.
The second VBA macro basically parses my data and automatically creates graphs from two columns.
The VBA codes themselves are in the post.

Looking through europe pictures
Shuo Wang :: Thursday, February 9, 2012
The thing about Europe was that the skyline of the pictures were absolutely amazing. The Schoenbrunn palace had an awesome courtyard area as well. The pictures I took using the camera were split up over a series of images. Doing some quick google searching, I found a program called Hugin that would do panoramic stitching automatically. I went ahead and tried this, and the pictures turned out really well. There was some post-processing using paint.NET to adjust the levels a bit and to crop. Nothing fancy though.

New Website Migrated
Shuo Wang :: Wednesday, January 25, 2012
Finally moved the new website over to the main page (shuo-wang.com). Everything is being run off of pyroCMS, and it looks pretty much how I've wanted it to look for the better part of the year. When I'd tried to hand design it, I didn't really get to far. Uploading and updating content was really terrible (see, shuo-wang.com/_new as proof). Now everything is pretty much done on the backend. Getting the background and UI to look like I'd wanted was incredibly quick, and I can actually link things effeciently. Lots of things to learn still, but very cool overall.
The thing that's missing from the frontpage though, are some pictures. So, to fix that, I'm adding a picture of how I feel about this, taken by a french friend of mine.

Peking Duck in Northbridge
Shuo Wang :: Monday, December 12, 2011
Sofia and I went to eat some Peking Duck in Northbridge today. We actually found this place yesterday when we were waiting to get our order from D'Tandoori (their food was delicious, but having to wait because they didn't put in our order... not so much). Anyway, we were looking through the menu magazine and found out that there was this place called "Four Seasons Roast Duck Restaurant" feature a full page of Peking Duck.

So very impressed

A few hours ago I picked up and installed the pyrocms software onto my webspace. I never used any type of CMS before, and only barely looked into tinkering with user themes in wordpress. So what do I think about pyrocms?
