Sofia and I went to eat some Peking Duck in Northbridge today. We actually found this place yesterday when we were waiting to get our order from D'Tandoori (their food was delicious, but having to wait because they didn't put in our order... not so much). Anyway, we were looking through the menu magazine and found out that there was this place called "Four Seasons Roast Duck Restaurant" feature a full page of Peking Duck.

The last time I remember having Peking Duck was in Beijing during 2006, so having the ability to go and eat again, right here in Perth, was pretty amazing. It was actually very different than I remembered it. The sauce was the same, but the duck itself was really.. sparse. It was mostly skin with very little actual meat. None the less, it was pretty delicious. The meal itself was a three-course meal, starting with the Peking Duck, then some sort of Duck Soup, and finally some noodles and duck. The waitress had told us that she thought the meal would've been more than enough for us... but I decided to order some fish too. We didn't even get through the noodles, and barely touched the fish. Needless to say, there's a bit of leftovers for me.
Speaking of leftovers, one of the topics at dinner was discussing our favorite restaurants to eat at in Perth. For me, it was all about value-for-money. I think delicious food is amazing, but if the food isn't as delicious as the price is worth, or if the price is way too high to justify going to regularly, it won't be on my menu. In no particular order, my list of choice food places are: Catalina's (Italian, Victoria Park), Panchos Mexican Villa (Mexican, Victoria Park), Serendib Thai (Thai/Indonesia/Malay, Riverton), Ten Ten House (Chinese, Karawara), Mikasa (Chinese Takeaway Style, Karawara -- this place is amazing I go here so much), Outback Jack (Steak, Northbridge/Fremantle -- pricey though, so it's rare), and finally, Korean BBQ House (Victoria Park -- also very expensive, but it's buffet style and very, very good). Compared to those places, the Four Seasons restaurant was actually a fantastic price for the amount of food we ate, plus the quality of the food was fairly high. I'm looking forward to going back after I'm back in town.
